Care and Support Committee

Join other parishioners in helping to organize and implement the care and support ministries of the parish.  The committee meets regularly, usually once a month.

Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Ministry

Be a part of this emerging ministry here at Lumen Christi and help build it from the beginning.  Join with others committed to providing support, care, and opportunities for spiritual connection for people struggling with mental health conditions, addiction, and those who serve them.  Assist with the planning and execution  of events, including educational opportunities, prayer services, speaker series, suicide and overdose prevention workshops and more.

Ministers of Communion to Parishioners who are Homebound

Extend our Eucharistic celebration to those unable to join us for Mass.  Share prayer and communion with 1 or more homebound individuals on a regular basis.  Commitment varies, but is typically <2 hours a month for every individual you visit, plus occasional trainings and reflection days.  Resources and mentoring provided.  Opportunities provided to share experiences with other Ministers.  Pairing of ministers with homebound individuals is done by Eric Fought, Director of Care, Support and Justice Ministries.

Ministers of Communion to Care Centers

Extend our Eucharistic celebration to those who reside at care centers within our parish boundary.  Lead Word and Communion Services at a care center once a month.  Commitment is around 2 hours a month for every service you offer.  Resources and mentoring will be provided.  Opportunities provided to share experiences with other Ministers.

Prayer Line

Hold the intentions of our parish community in your own personal prayer.  You will be contacted daily with requests made by parishioners for healing, hope, and community support.  Commitment is to check email or phone daily and to daily prayer.  You may be contacted by email or phone.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Gather together to knit or crochet concrete symbols of love and prayer to give to members of our community.  This group creates shawls and lap blankets to give to those in the hospital or homebound.  Knitters meet the second Wednesday of every month at 5:30 pm in the Gathering Area.  Mentoring and instruction is available.
