Highland Catholic School’s annual SWING fundraiser is only made possible by the generosity of so many and a shared vision to help our students and strengthen our community.
Imagine if church was a place where you could talk about important topics and feel safe, respected, understood. If conversation around current issues became a pathway to belonging, to building community. These are the goals of Living Room Conversations, a new offering beginning this spring. Living Room Conversations use a structured format to help people with different viewpoints and experiences build understanding. It is not a debate, and the goal is not to change one another’s opinion. Conversation Agreements like “Listen and Be Curious” and “Show Respect and Suspend Judgment” and small groups create the framework for diving into the questions. Curious? Give it a try at one (or all!) of our Spring offerings. Each topic will be offered twice a day from 8:30 to 10 a.m. OR 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Mondays in the Community Room: Belonging April 17 Listening Courageously April 24 Faith Community: The Way Forward May 1 Registration appreciated, but not required. Call the office (651-698-5581) to RSVP or do it online here!
