Racism is a term so loaded with controversy that we avoid discussing it. At the same time, we are aware that we should understand it so that we can better address it. Please join us for an engaging, candid, non-judgmental, and non-political discussion of racism on Wednesday, November 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in the Lumen Christi Community Room. The evening will offer a mix of education and conversation. The event is facilitated by Dr. James Brewer Stewart, professor emeritus from Macalester College, leading historian of American race relations, and nationally acclaimed advocate of racial reconciliation. Dr. Stewart taught from 1969-2002, has spoken nationally, authored books, consulted, and appeared in PBS historical documentaries. The event is free, and all are welcome (walk-ins included). For planning purposes, please RSVP here, or call the parish office at 651-698-5581. This Discussion of Racism is offered as a partnership between Lumen Christi Racial Justice Ministry, St. Odilia Racial Equity Ministry, and our facilitator, Dr. Brewer Stewart.
