General Message to Parish Receptionist

Fr. Paul Feela, Pastor

Lumen Christi Catholic Community is actually the result of the bringing together of three small faith communities in the heart of Saint Paul. We are located just one block from the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Ford Parkway. Our greatest assets are not money or buildings, but our people — people committed to being church. Our common faith is most apparent in the way we come together to worship God. People here care for everyone; they pray for one another and they are willing to support one another through the struggles of life as we seek to live intentionally, in the pattern of Christ, together. As you get to know these wonderful folks you will become as convinced as I have that Lumen Christi is a place you can call “my parish.”

Stop over some weekend. Introduce yourself to me and speak with a few of the parishioners and I promise you that you will not leave disappointed. Finding our way to God is more difficult in today’s culture. It can only be done with much encouragement and support. Christian communities offer a unique opportunity in our world to become disciples of the One who shows us how we can love one another and to discover in our encounters here that we are held together by a love that is truly divine.

With blessings to you always,
Fr. Paul Feela, Pastor

Eric S. Fought, Director of Pastoral Care

As Director of Pastoral Care, I’m committed to equipping, empowering, and calling forth members of the Lumen Christi community to offer pastoral care to one another in times of crisis and need. I am a resource to all parishioners who wish to serve in pastoral ministry, offering support, prayer experiences, and ongoing formation, and look forward to the opportunity to work with each of you as we live out our call to discipleship together. That call also includes engagement in the work of social justice, and I work collaboratively with leaders from the parish, other nearby parishes and faith communities, and community partners to bring about the common good for all.

Originally from Wisconsin, I have called Minnesota home for the past 10 years. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to be formed by Franciscans, Benedictines, and Dominicans throughout my life, and my ministry and spiritual life has been influenced greatly by those perspectives. Prior to joining the staff here at Lumen Christi, I spent several years in graduate theological studies and before then worked in professional communications, social justice advocacy, hospital chaplaincy, and youth ministry.

Hello, I am the Youth Minister at Lumen Christi.  I am excited to be part of this dynamic faith faith filled community.  I live here in Highland Park with my husband Jon and our son Ben.  Ben attends Highland Catholic School.  My education and background are in youth ministry.  My mission statement for youth ministry is summed up in a quote from Pope John Paul II in his homily on World Youth Day 1993 in Denver, Colorado.  “Offer your youthful energies and your talents to building a civilization of Christian love…commit yourself to the struggle for justice, solidarity and peace.”  As I consider this quote I find myself filled with faith and expectancy for what the youth of this parish have to offer.  I look forward to meeting and working with all of you!

Students are encouraged to be thoughtful, creative and industrious in pursuing knowledge by following a curriculum that includes basic skills and higher-level thinking.
