My wife Claire and I joined Lumen Christi Catholic Community in 2013, and we are proud parents of three boys, Eddie (2nd grade at HiC), Ray (Kindergarten at HiC), and Hal (future preschooler at HiC). After growing up in Iowa, I studied theology at Loyola University Chicago and served as a Lasallian Volunteer before earning a Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame. We moved to Saint Paul in 2012, and following a few years teaching and ministering in Catholic secondary and higher education, I discovered a passion for fundraising and have spent the past decade in the field of philanthropy.
The joy and community we've found here at Lumen Christi inspired me to move into this role. Simply put, it is good that Lumen Christi and Highland Catholic School are here, and I'm driven to ensure the Light of Christ is available to all who seek it for years to come. In a time when many in our community are seeking places to be known and loved by God and one another, I'm excited to partner with parishioners, school families, alumni, and donors to ensure the Light of Christ shines bright for all who seek a place of welcome and comfort that is rooted in our Catholic faith. - Joe Kolar, M.Div.
