Congratulations on the new spiritual journey for your family! May this holy occasion bring you and your family all of God’s grace and love during this special time.
Baptism joins us with Christ and forms us into God’s disciples. It is the first Sacrament to be celebrated before celebrating any of the Church’s seven other sacraments. Baptism is the first Sacrament of Initiation, the other two being Confirmation and First Eucharist. The Catholic Church baptizes people of all ages-infants to adults. Through Baptism, we receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and accept God’s transforming love.

A Baptism preparation class is required before the Baptism for new parents or those who have not had a class in three years. Contact Lynn Schelitzche, Director of Faith Formation about the options.
The Sponsor/godparent(s) must be a practicing Catholic, at least 16 years of age and confirmed in the Catholic Church. A person of another Christian denomination may stand as a witness.
The Catholic Church requires a copy of your child’s birth certificate or adoption certificate before celebrating the baptism and for our sacrament records. You may bring it to the preparation class, drop it off at the parish office, or Email a scan of it as an attachment to Lynn Scheliztche, Director of Faith Formation.
